Heathrow Terminal 5 – First Flight

British Airways’ first woman pilot will fly the first plane to taxi up to Heathrow’s new £4.3billion Terminal 5.

Captain Lynn Barton, 51, who made history when she took the controls in 1987, will be flight commander on BA026 from Hong Kong, due in at 4.50am on Thursday.

Lynn, who got the news after returning from a holiday in Barbados said: “I’m absolutely thrilled. It’s a huge honour.”
